Information and calculations are general educational estimates. They are not legal, medical, financial, tax, or accredited veterans-claims advice. VetClaimMath cannot diagnose a condition, determine whether it is service connected, recommend that a claim be filed, or guarantee a rating, payment, effective date, permanent-and-total status, or any other benefit. Users should consult VA, a qualified health professional, or a VA-accredited representative when appropriate.
Condition library
The condition library is not exhaustive. A diagnosis, diagnostic code, symptom description, or apparent match to displayed criteria does not establish service connection or entitlement to a particular evaluation. VA considers the complete evidentiary record and may use analogous ratings, multiple diagnostic codes, staged ratings, protected ratings, special rules, or other provisions. Descriptions may be simplified for readability; the controlling regulation and the user’s VA decision take precedence.
Overlapping symptoms and separate ratings
Adding a condition to the calculator does not mean VA may legally assign it a separate rating. VA generally avoids evaluating the same manifestation under multiple diagnoses, often called pyramiding. Related conditions may be combined, recharacterized, or evaluated under a different diagnostic code.
Combined ratings and bilateral factor
The calculator estimates combined ratings using the whole-person method reflected in 38 C.F.R. § 4.25 and evaluates potential bilateral-factor treatment under § 4.26. Whether a disability qualifies as part of a bilateral pair can depend on anatomy, diagnostic characterization, effective dates, and VA adjudication. VetClaimMath’s bilateral result is an estimate; VA’s calculation controls.
Rounding
The displayed “true” percentage is the calculator’s whole-number combined value after its calculation steps. The payable schedular percentage is rounded to the nearest multiple of 10 under the applicable VA rule. This does not make the underlying combined value a separate VA disability evaluation.
Compensation estimates
Payment estimates use the displayed rate table and selected dependent information. They may not reflect Special Monthly Compensation, TDIU, temporary total ratings, hospitalization or convalescence benefits, clothing allowance, apportionment, dependency changes, unusual dependent circumstances, drill-pay adjustments, military retired-pay offsets, severance recoupment, withholding, incarceration adjustments, debt collection, effective dates, staged awards, or retroactive-payment calculations. Actual payments may differ.
Rates and regulations change
VA compensation rates, diagnostic criteria, regulations, and interpretations can change. The date shown on a rate table or library review is not a promise that every item remains current. Users should verify current information using official VA and eCFR sources.
Permanent and Total status and TDIU
A 100% schedular calculation does not establish Permanent and Total status. P&T is a separate VA determination. TDIU is also a separate benefit determination and is not calculated by this tool.
Privacy and device storage
Calculator entries are processed in the user’s browser and are not intentionally transmitted to VetClaimMath. Optional saved scenarios are stored unencrypted in that browser profile and may be visible to anyone with access to the device or profile. They may be lost if the user deletes browser data, uses private browsing, changes devices, or removes the app. Users should not enter Social Security numbers, VA claim numbers, medical-record numbers, dates of birth, addresses, passwords, or other sensitive personal information. Website hosting may create ordinary security and operational logs, such as IP address, browser type, request time, and requested page. See the Privacy Policy.
Feedback and external services
If a user voluntarily emails support@vetclaimmath.app, the message and any contact information included will be transmitted to VetClaimMath and processed by the applicable email providers. Users should not send sensitive personal, claim, or medical information. Links to VA, eCFR, advertisers, sponsors, or other third parties lead to services VetClaimMath does not control. A link does not necessarily constitute endorsement.
Advertising and sponsorships
Any future paid placement, affiliate relationship, or sponsorship should be clearly identified. Advertising does not influence calculator results and does not mean an advertiser is approved by VA or endorsed by VetClaimMath. Users should independently evaluate any commercial provider, especially businesses offering claim assistance.
No warranty
VetClaimMath is provided “as is” and “as available.” Although reasonable efforts are made to improve accuracy, completeness, and availability, errors or omissions may occur. To the extent permitted by law, users remain responsible for decisions made using the tool and should verify material information through official sources.
